Eclipse 3.5
The current development target is Eclipse 3.5. Both nightly builds and release builds are available at http://self.pluginbuilder.org/. There are the following installation option:
- Download a feature zip and extract it into the dropins folder in your Eclipse installation directory
- Download a local repository and install it with the update manager:
- Help->Install New Software...
- Click Add... to open the Add Site dialog
- Add a name, e.g. pluginbuilder
- Click Archive... and choose the local repository
- Close the Add Site dialog with OK
- Select the Pluginbuilder feature and proceed with Next > and then Finish
- In a similar manner you can add an update site:
- Help->Install New Software...
- Click Add... to open the Add Site dialog
- Add a name, e.g. pluginbuilder
- Copy one of the update site URLs into the Location field:
- Close the Add Site dialog with OK
- Select the Pluginbuilder feature and proceed with Next > and then Finish
Older Eclipse versions
Eclipse 3.4
- download the feature zip and extract it into the dropins folder in your Eclipse installation directory or
- download the local p2 repository and add a local archive:
- Help->Software Updates...
- Switch to the Available Software tab
- Click Add Site...
- Choose Archive...
- Check at least the Pluginbuilder feature, the Autotestsuite will automatically be included
Eclipse 3.3/3.2
- download the feature zip file and extract it directly into your Eclipse installation directory or
- download the (pre-p2) local update site and add it with the (pre-p2) update manager
Download feature zips or local update sites from pluginbuilder's download site on Sourceforge. Check the following table to match the pluginbuilder version with your Eclipse version.
